To those of you who haven't seen the deviation yet, I'm not kidding about leaving. I've been mulling over this for the last month or so and went over all the positives and negatives in my head, and the pros ultimately outweighed the cons.

There's a lot of reasons for my decision to leave, but I guess the simplest is that I've changed so much over the last five years on this account that overall I don't feel like this one is..."me" anymore. I wish I had just moved accounts before instead of changing my name, that would have saved a lot of frustration.

If you like my work/want to support my work, please please please watch me on my new account!
I want to keep the friends I've made here, removing all of the dead skin of this account aside.

If you don't refollow me that's alright, hopefully you'll re-find me down the line!

I love you guys, this place, etc...I'm just
ready for this new change.

Uuuuh wow, I haven't submitted a journal since december. Go me.

Anyway, I'm not dead!! My FB page gets a slight bit more activity because I post derpy sketches and WIPs too whereas here I only post finished, polished pieces...or, at least finished (and may or may not look as polished as they actually are).
If you follow me on FB you'll already have had this announcement of the adoptable series I'm planning on.
But for those of you who don't (I'd always accept new franz btw), I'll talk about them here. And for those that do, I'll go into more depth about them and my plans for them!!

TL;DR
- No bases will be used
- No name yet - help me think of one in the comments?
- Customs?
- There's an example of them in this Wall of Text

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, I will not be working with bases! That's the one thing I'm sure of, even if that makes my life harder I definitely don't want to do things in bases. Each one will have their own pose drawn from scratch so that this can be their first legitimate reference by themselves. I'm thinking each will come with an outfit as well if people think that's a good idea, but it doesn't have to be their only outfit.

Different color variants will come from different regions. For example, my baby Shasta is an arctic variant with some woodland in him, which gave him his black markings. There will also be highly colorful tropical variants, tawny colored forest/woodland variants, dark colored woodland variants, and light colored/mostly white arctic variants. I'll likely think of other color palettes as I go along but those are my current plans. Not to mention I'll likely mix the variants around to get mutts like Shasta.
Oh, I'm also planning on a domestic cat color variant group, haha!
Each region/color/mutt/etc. will be a cycle, and I'll rotate between them multiple times.

SO HERE'S an example.

Shasta is mine and is not up for sale but his species will all be the same GENERAL build. Large hands, hands for feet, really long tails, elf-like ears, snake-mouths, fangs, big eyes, claws, etc. There will be other types of builds, like beefy, lanky, curvy for the lady ones, and the former also for the lady variants. Many possibilities. I imagine they're an intelligent race and therefore would be able to make/appreciate outfits and jewelry and other personal adornment, so that'll be a part of each design as well. I'll eventually have their whole species information up for look-sees in a less informal format.

I'll be offering custom ones (for people to ask for via note). Since I like drawing them so much I'll have them available all the time, for a base price of $35, $50 for an outfit to be included (but if you ask me they work just fine in their birthday suits). Just ask me what you'd like for colors and I'll make it for you!!

For the ones I make by myself and put up as-is, I'll have an AB of $40, but they'll be auctioned so people don't have to pay the AB unless they absolutely want to be guaranteed to have that baby no matter what. I predict the auctions to start at $10 each, but I have no idea what their average bid will get to.

I'M JUST SO EXCITED FOR ALL OF THESE NEW POSSIBILITIES.
School's getting me down in the dumps so I thought I'd start up a personal project and...here they are!

I have no name for them yet, but my current idea is a genus name of their mixed inspirations.
But, if you'd want (had you read this far), you can help me think of a name for them!! If you have a name better than my idea, please tell me in the comments c:

I'm excited to see what you guys think of them, if you think they'll be successful.
I have so little experience in this field. I've been asking around so I've been able to glean some information, but if any of you have tips or concerns please feel free to let me know!!
I'm so excited/in love with all of these possibilities, I want to start shipping them off asap!

My birthday came and went and won't be back for another 364 days. That still feels weird to me. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES! <3 It was a really nice one even though celebrating it had some weirdness! I spent the day before it actually celebrating, and the day after (my real birthday) recuperating from that and chillin' with my boo. It was an amazing birthday. My birthday present to myself was SLACKING OFF LIKE A BOSS. Skipped class on monday, and did little to no homework throughout thanksgiving break. I'm paying for it now but, it was worth it.

Likewise (on a previously touched on, then abandoned, and now revisited note) I'd like to thank those that stuck around after the name change. I've noticed activity here has plummeted since I've made the switch, which has been an odd battle within myself. I like the new name and my work has skyrocketed in quality (Oh god looking at my gallery made me delete a LOT of work), but this is all met with less activity, which only makes me strive to work harder even though it's met with a heavy sigh. Those that stuck with me, thank you so much. Those that are new watchers, thank you so much for supporting me in this new phase of my life, and I hope to continue to entertain!

For those of you that really only left because HOLY POOP I VERY RARELY UPDATE, here's just another reminder that I'm much more active on my Facebook page! I post sketches, works in progress, and paintings that I don't feel are appropriate for DA anymore. n_n

I love you guys.
I have the best friends and such an amazing support from all of you. If someone told me this is what my life would be like four to five years ago, I wouldn't even have laughed at them - I would have blankly stared at them with dead eyes and gone back into hermitage. I've grown so much and I am so excited for what the future holds.

A life update and some information pertaining to you, my wonderful viewers and friends.

(Adoptable Info/Questions at the Bottom!)

I remember the first week of September as if it were yesterday, and then I saw today that I'd missed a ton of things. It went from the first week to the last week in the blink of an eye (the blink of that eye crying waterfalls of stress).

Homework load has been pretty oppressive this semester. Three studios instead of two, and one of them (concept art) has a big project due every week. When multiple classes have big projects due a week (GOD I hope that all three don't do that I will sob until I'm entirely drained of saline), I lose my cool a bit...

Anyway, because of that I don't have much time for anything except for homework. The last two days I had SOME down time, sooo I took more than I was supposed to. I went to the MTG Theros prerelease tournaments at the local game stores!
(if you really don't care about my MTG adventures (completely understandable) skip the next paragraph.)

The first day I won a whole lotta nothing. I won one game and the girl I played against was slightly infuriating. I felt bad about winning in some ways because really we just ran out of time and I had one more win than she did, but she was such a slow player and she seemed so clueless that I felt like, if I had been less unlucky about drawing mana, I would have won by a landslide. Alas. HOWEVER, that same day, where I didn't win much at all, the packs I opened were RIDICULOUS. LY AWESOME.
Out of 6 packs (this was a sealed tournament) I got 3 mythic rares - Polukranos, Nylea (the green godess), and Master of Waves. I also got The Hundred-Handed One (omg Brad Rigney you are my God), aaaaaand some other things that basically paid me to go. The second day (yesterday) I actually placed! Out of 29 people (70 less than the day before) I got 8th. For my second tournament ever, that's pretty awesome. Out of 4 rounds I won 3, lost 1. The one I lost was the very first one though, that's why I got 8th. In one of my packs I got a Thoughtseize. I knew I wasn't going to use it despite it being a ridiculously awesome card, so I traded it to one of the judges for a FAT STACK of cards I knew I wanted/would use. Ridiculously happy.

ANYWAY, about these adoptables!
I've been throwing some ideas around in my head and thought I'd ask for some opinions from you guys! I'm new to this game, so there are still some things I'm foggy on. I know what I DON'T like about the adoptables world, though - using the same base and drawing on top of it for different color schemes is infuriating to me. If I'm going to buy someone's adoptable it's going to be completely and 100% original, and what i buy had better be a full ref so that I can buy art of the character afterwards that's accurate.
SO.
That's what I'm going to be doing.
If/when I sell these Elf Wraiths, each individual character will be alone, 100% original and singular among them all, and fully painted.
That being said, I don't know if I should have them up for auction, or if I should just have them purchasable for a flat price? I know the appeal of auctions but I don't know how I feel about making people fight over a character - perhaps a first-come-first-serve approach would be better. I really don't know....any thoughts?
If auctions, what's a good starting price?
If just a one-time purchase, what's a good price? I don't want to charge too much because then no one would buy them, but they -are- fully painted and original.
If auctions with an auto-buy, I guess the same above questions?

ALSO, I've been really active on my FB page! I've been putting up a lot of works in progress, so those of you that follow that already saw what Gatsby was going to look like before I posted it here. If you're interested in seeing what I'm up to outside of full-fledged paintings (I find I don't post much artwork here because I'm doing so many other pieces that aren't full-fledged paintings), please follow me there!

Uhmmmm I think that's it
I look forward to hearing from you guys!
Thank you so much for humoring me if you read all this/are going to respond to my adoptable questions.
